Heavy Duty Electric Powered Delivery Trolley – Case Study

The Problem

A manufacturing client operating within a busy facility required a safe and efficient solution for transporting sub-assembly parts weighing up to 3.5 tonnes with a span of 5 metres. The client sought a solution that would eliminate the need for additional equipment while maintaining a high standard of safety and ease of use.

At EDS, we designed, machined, fabricated, 3D printed, and rigorously tested the Heavy Duty Electric Powered Delivery Trolley entirely in-house, ensuring the highest levels of quality and attention to detail.

Key Features

  1. Eliminates Additional Equipment
The trolley negated the need for forklift trucks or similar plant machinery, offering a streamlined approach to moving components. This resulted in reduced operational costs, improved facility efficiency, and a safer working environment.
  2. Space-Saving Design
Designed specifically for manufacturing facilities with limited space, the trolley’s compact footprint allowed it to navigate tight areas effortlessly, ensuring seamless integration into the client’s existing workflows.
  3. Electrically Powered Travel
The trolley’s electric drive system eliminated the need for physically strenuous operator input. Operators could transport loads effortlessly, significantly reducing physical fatigue and the risk of injuries.
  4. Intuitive Control System
A simple, user-friendly control interface allowed operators to master the trolley’s functionality with minimal training. The controls provided precision movement, ensuring delicate sub-assemblies could be handled safely and accurately.
